Reviews Result Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Display More Accurate Than Macbook Pro
Professional photographer Rob Galbraith uses his Dell Inspiron Mini 9 daily. No, it cant handle tough conversions and complex tasks, but its perfect to "import, select and transmit JPEGs" as well as the standard netbook uses of email and web browsing. What he didnt expect was that the viewing quality would exceed that of the new 15" Macbook Pro.
Gilbraiths biggest problem with the new MBP is the dont-even-think-about-opening-that-shade all glass glossy display. The display caused enough problems, apparently, that the Macbook rated 4th out of the 4 laptops tested. Two Lenovo entries were also tested and they were rated the top two of the bunch, with the Dell coming in 3rd.
For the longest time, Apple laptop displays ruled the roost around here. With very few exceptions, going back to the days of the PowerBook G4, portable Macs were considerably more colour accurate [than anyone else]. Thanks to Lenovo, however, and Apples decision to standardize on the glossiest of glossy screens... Macs are no longer at the top of the laptop display heap in our minds.
Gilbraith does admit that the viewing angles on the MBP are much better that those on the Dell Mini, and if your emphasis lies with that the MBP catapults all the way up to 3rd place in his rankings, passing the Mini. But no matter which way you look at it, this is visibly eye-popping news given the dramatic price difference between the Dell (~$300) and the MBP (~$2000).

ASUS F1A75 I DELUXE Motherboard
ASUS New F1A75-I DELUXE Motherboard
ASUS today announced the launch of their new Mini-ITX motherboard based on the AMD A75 chipset, the F1A75-I DELUXE motherboard. With onboard graphics built in to the APU, the F1A75-I DELUXE offers excellent graphics performance, especially when combined with a discrete GPU for Dual Graphics capabilities. Like the previous F1A75 series, this version is also equipped with the latest ASUS-exclusive technologies and features, including DIGI+ VRM for precise digital power control, a graphical and mouse-controlled UEFI BIOS and support for DirectX® 11 graphics and DTS® audio. Together in a Mini-ITX layout, the F1A75-I DELUXE motherboard is a fantastic choice for the new trend of small, yet powerful multimedia centers. As an extra bonus, the F1A75-I DELUXE ships with a convenient wireless USB remote control that also has a full keyboard for typing on the backside.
ASUS F1A75-I DELUXE Motherboard : DIGI+ VRM: a first on Mini-ITX
With the rising popularity of the HTPC market, the shift will be to make media centers more compact for those with limited living space, such as students in dorm rooms or those with studio apartments. ASUS is the first in the industry to adopt a luxury power design on the Mini-ITX format with features like DIGI+ VRM and a DIGI+ 4+2 digital power phase design for unparalleled power control.
The unique UEFI BIOS is also adopted onto the Mini-ITX form factor. The flexible and user friendly, mouse controlled graphical user interface and ASUS Exclusive EZ mode design can help tune an HTPC easier, so users can enjoy worry free multimedia from the comfort of the living room.
ASUS F1A75-I DELUXE Motherboard : Small on size, not on features
With the single chip design of AMD’s APU, more space is available on the motherboard for other features previously unavailable on Mini-ITX motherboards. Onboard the F1A75-I DELUXE are built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a gigabit LAN port so users have a variety of options to stay connected. A PCI-Express 2.0 16x slot allows for additional graphics processing power to be added, enabling Dual Graphics capability if an AMD card, while four SATA 6Gb/s connections, with one an eSATA and four USB 3.0 connections provide quick file transfers.

Lenovo Ideapad Z570 1024DCU 15 6 Inch Laptops Review

In addition, it also comes with easy to use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and it also comes with a feature in many other applications to create powerful applications.
How to Improve Computer Performance
1. Virus Scan Program - The most essential thing to have is a virus scan that is run weekly. Most new computers come with a virus scan already installed. If the computer you are using doesnt have a virus scan there are free scans available online, but one really should be installed on your computer if you spend any time at all online. Spend the time learning how to use your virus scanner. Find out how its updated - most update automatically - and use the options to set it up to run automatically at a set time every week. Most computer problems can be prevented just by having a virus scanner installed.
2. Run the Scandisk program - At least every two months you should run a program called Scandisk. It is automatically on your computer. Scandisk actually scans your files and even your hard drive and can let you know of any problems it discovers.
To run Scandisk, first make sure everything running in the background on your PC is turned off. To do this press "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" and your close program box will appear.
Highlight each item EXCEPT "explorer" and "systray". Click on "End Task" to close the program.
Then go to your start button and choose "Programs". Choose "Accessories" at the top of the list. Move your cursor down to "System Tools" and Choose "Scandisk".
A box will appear giving your choices of what you want your computer to scan. You can have it scan your files only or your entire hard drive. Scanning your hard drive will take longer.
3. Run the Defragmenter program - Another program that you should run about every two months is called Disk Defragmenter. Defrag will arrange your files better so your PC can access them faster. Its best to run this program after the Scandisk program is finished.
To run Disk Defragmenter go back to the "System Tools" and choose "Disk Defragmenter". Its best to run this program overnight as it takes a long time.
You should not be using these programs while using other programs on your computer. If the Scandisk or Defrag program keeps starting over you may need to run the programs in Safe Mode, a special diagnostic mode. Read the manual for your PC to find out how to put your PC into Safe Mode.
4. Use a Firewall program - For anyone on a DSL or cable connection a personal firewall keeps viruses, hijackers and hackers from your computer. Since you are constantly connected to the internet by using these connections there is a constant threat that others may try to access your computer. There are free firewall programs available for download.
5. Run a Spyware program - Anyother important program is a spyware search program. When you download something from the internet sometimes other software is included. This software is called "spyware" and it can do many things to harm your computer, including letting someone from another website see what websites you surf in order to send you advertising. Other spyware tries to steal your passwords or other personal information. You should run a spyware checker at least once a month or at any time you are experiencing problems with your connection or computer speed.
6. Run a hi-jacker search program - Another important program to have is a hi-jacker search program. A hi-jacker changes your homepage to a different search engine page and can also block links to common search pages. They are trying to force you to use their homepage. Some of the hi-jackers homepages are not pages you would like your children to see. You should use a hi-jacker search program at least once a month or whenever you are having a problem with your homepage.
7. Clear your temporary files - Sometimes your PCs virtual memory will become full. When this happens your computer may run slow, give you error messages or freeze during a program. This happens because everything you do on your PC - every picture on every webpage, every document you type, every photo you change - is saved somewhere on your PC, even after you have left that page and closed the document. In order to erase this memory you need to do the following steps:
Open your internet browser. Go to "Tools", "Internet Options".
A box will pop open. It should be open to the "General" tab.
In the center of the box is a section marked "Temporary Internet Files".
Click on "Delete Cookies" and "Delete Files" one at a time. This will delete the temporary files that are clogging the PCs memory.
8. Change your history options - Another way to clean out your computers memory is to change how many days it saves visited pages. You will find a "history" box in your internet options. It asks how many days you wish to keep pages in history. This is the part of the computer that saves all pages youve visited for as many days as you wish. By saving these pages for a smaller number of days you can clear up more of your PCs memory.
9. Clean out old files - Periodically going through the files in My Documents or other folders you have set up and deleting or archiving them on a CD can also help your computers memory and performance. Do you really need to keep a saved copy of last semesters English term paper? If not, delete it. You can also go through the programs on your PC from the control panel and delete those you no longer use. Dont delete any of the shared files, though, if it asks, because that can cause more problems.
10. Reboot the PC occasionally - The last thing that is very important to do but seems simple is just to turn your computer off periodically. Your PC needs to be restarted in order to reset itself after new programs or equipment is installed. It also erases the virtual memory from the last session and goes through a self-diagnostic to look for any problems. It sounds like a simple solution, but most problems can be fixed simply by restarting your PC.
Troubleshooting your PCs problems doesnt have to cost a lot of money or require technical expertise. By using just a few software programs and common sense most problems can be stopped and you will find that your PC has better performance and reliability.

Search Google by image
Search Google by image
Now, you can also search Google using an image itself as the keyword. That`s really an amazing addition to the Google search engine. Even now, Google is the #1 search engine, and with this new feature, we can now search using images.
What it does is that when you insert the image to be searched in the search string, Google tries to suggest a proper keyword for the image, tries to find similar images to the one you searched, and displays a list of sites that display the same exact image you searched.
So, if you encounter an image and do not know what exactly it is, or the name of the image, you can just search Google using the image and you will be provided the all the information mentioned above. And like I said, Google will TRY to suggest these information, sometimes they will be exactly correct and at other times, you may obtain related information. Well, Google will surely improve this feature in the future.
Basically, what you need to do is to first go to Google images:
Then select the image you want to use to search Google and drag and drop it in the search string (you should notice a small camera picture on the string line of Google Image search - this indicates that you can search using Google). If the image is from another site, Google will search it and if it is from your computer, Google will first upload the image and then perform the search.
I tried to search using this image:
And this is the result page number 1 delivered by Google.
Like I said, the system does not seems perfect right now. Sometimes, you may even obtain completely irrelevant results, but normally, it should work.

Alienwares Area 51 m17x
Our review unit has the following specifications:
* 17-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) glossy display
* Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 (2.8GHz/ 4MB L2/ 800MHz FSB) processor
* Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800M-GT 512MB graphics cards in SLI
* 4GB DDR2-667 RAM
* 500GB RAID 0 (2x 250GB 7200RPM Samsung) hard drive
* Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
* AlienFX lighting and backlit keyboard
* Internal TV tuner & remote control
* Alienware Orion messenger bag
As of writing, the Area-51 m17x starts at $3,849; our configuration totals $5,899. Note that our test unit includes several costly items such as the Intel Extreme processor and RAID 0 array. The m17x is only available from Alienware directly.
Build and Design
This all-black monster is one of the largest notebooks I have tested. It is 2.1 inches thick and tips the scales at 11 pounds. The physical design of the m17x is traditional – there are no fancy curves or other design elements. It has a box-like design with rounded edges. The rubberized matte black finish of the Area-51 m17x lends it a high-end feel and look. The only glossy finish to be found on the m17x is on the borders of the LCD.
In addition to being one of the largest, this notebook is also one of the most solidly-build notebooks I have tested. The entire base of the notebook is inflexible. The palmrests do not budge under pressure, and neither do the other surfaces surrounding the keyboard.
The base of the notebook does not bend when twisted, and the lid resists twisting better than the majority of 17-inch notebooks. The m17x’s lid is thicker than most. Pushing in on the back of the lid does not yield any ripples on the screen unless extreme pressure is used.
The hinge holds the display in place well; there is some display wobble, though it takes effort to induce (such as shaking the table where the notebook is sitting). Given the size and weight of this display, I think the wobble is reasonably kept under control. The display does not have any latches but is instead held closed by a pair of small magnets.
The lighting system, called AlienFX, is what makes the m17x stand out from the crowd. Five areas of the notebook feature LED backlighting:
* Keyboard
* Touchpad
* Touch buttons
* Alienware logo below display
* Alien head power button and emblem on back of display
Each zone can be changed independently to one of 12 colors. In addition, it is easy to completely disable AlienFX by pressing [Fn] + [F11]. Overall, the design of the m17x is traditional yet attractive; it has a quality finish and feel. The machine is solid and well made.
Display
The m17x comes standard with the only display available, a 17-inch glossy widescreen with a WUXGA resolution (1920x1200 pixels). The picture quality of this display is stunning – colors are vibrant and the brightness level is high. This screen is ideal for gaming, high-definition video, and general use. The crisp contrast makes reading text easy.
Viewing angles are excellent from above and side-to-side, however like a typical LCD, the picture darkens viewed from below. The backlighting is generally even, with only a hint from the bottom of the screen. On the whole, the m17x definitely has one of the best displays I have seen on a notebook

ASUS Eee Pad Slider SL101 Review
Asus Eee Pad Slider SL101 |
If most of the Android tablet is made with a touch keyboard, another case with Android tablet from Asus. Asus Eee Pad Slider has designed the SL101, the first 10-inch Android tablet that uses a slide out QWERTY keyboard. Eee Pad Slider also features a bright IPS screen, full-size USB port (for attaching the storage drive or mouse) and the soft portion slim casing. Read the reviews Asus Eee Pad Slider SL101 from us, so that you get to know and be considered you to have this product.
DesignEee Pad Slider has the dimensions 10, 7 x 7.1 x 0.7 inches (with a retractable keyboard) and weighs 953 grams, bigger and heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (9.7 x 6.7 x 0, 3 inches, 565gram) and the Eee Pad Transformer (10.7 x 6.9 x 0.5 inches, 680gram). However, with the dock attached keyboar, Transformer much weight is 1.27 Kg.
Eee Pad Slider SL101 has a touchscreen surface is smooth and unusually thick panels are black with the sides curved gray. Size of the panel on each side is 1 inch and 0.9 inch at the top and bottom of the screen, looks bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (0.6 inches). However, this provides extra space for a wider keyboard. The back surface of a very grippable plastic coated, plastic with soft touch plastic with a gray accent lines give this device an attractive two-tone appearance.
By inserting a finger in between two layers of the casing (on the front-facing webcam) and push up, you can flip Eee Pad SL101 Slider sliding mode. In this mode, the screen is at a 45 degree angle, exposing a full QWERTY keyboard that has a soft material. Sliding keyboard device requires you to take and hold it with two hands, but quite smooth sliding motion. Coupled with a very sturdy hinge.
KeyboardEee Pad Slider SL101 has a QWERTY keyboard complete with buttons, including a special line number, the arrow keys, buttons khusu for Home, functions Back, Menu and Search.
Although you can use the arrow keys to navigate around the desktop and select the icon, but most will use your finger to launch applications. Unfortunately, Asus Android tablet does not include a pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard, although you can add an external mouse if you want this tablet works like a regular laptop.
Although you can type with accuracy a large and comfortable compared with the virtual keyboard, but the keys on the Eee Pad Slider SL101 keyboard is smaller than netbooks in general. So a little bit uncomfortable when typing a long period of time.
Eee Pad Slider SL101 also comes with two pre-loaded virtual keyboard, the keyboard and the keyboard of the Asus Android itself. We suggest you use the keyboard for the Asus numbers and letters placed on the same screen, giving the other symbols and even offer a similar fashion with Swype trail.
Unfortunately, as with Swype, a predictive capability is very limited footprint mode. Both Asus and Android keyboard supports haptic feedback.
Ports and ButtonsAsus Eee Pad Slider SL101 has multiple ports that are useful and you will not find on other Android tablet. On the right side there are some USB ports that you can use to install the USB Flash Disk, external hard disk, keyboard or mouse. At the top there is a mini HDMI port for connecting to a TV or external monitor and docking connector proprietary should you use to connect to an AC adapter for charging or PC to copy the file. The left side there is a microSD card reader, a special reset button, volume and power buttons.
When you attach an external USB mouse into the USB port, the pointer will appear and you can move around the Android 3.2 UI with very Mudan and click on the icon as if it were a desktop operating system. But you will see more and more when you use a wireless mouse.
